John Gruber finds Apple’s 2,000-dollar iPhone Duo a brilliant pocketable tablet and a miserable phone
Gruber calls the Duo a tablet in disguise. Unfolded, its 7.6-inch screen is his favorite tablet experience, and its split-screen interface beats anything on iPadOS. Closed, it’s the worst iPhone Apple has made, and he wouldn’t buy this first generation at $2,000.
I handled a 3D printed model and see it the same way. It’s a tablet you can fold into your pocket, not a phone that unfolds. The first generation’s omission of Face ID looks like a dealbreaker too.

2. Just because Tesla’s Optimus is in production doesn’t mean it’s actually ready

Tesla starts Optimus production while its robot still lacks reliable hands, safety, and capable AI
Tesla has started early Optimus production in Fremont, but Musk says the hands, safety, durability, and AI still need work. He expects it to come together around the end of 2027, while roboticist Ken Goldberg warns that impressive controlled demos can hide low success rates or a human operator.
I don’t see these pieces coming together in a year. AI progress is jagged, strong in software and coding and weaker elsewhere. Like the promises on Tesla’s Full Self Driving, I expect 5 to 10 years past what Elon says.

How to Build Wealth as a Career Person
Adeniyi argues you can build real wealth from a nine-to-five by solving hard problems, learning fast, and producing measurable results, then having the discipline to invest a meaningful share of every paycheck.
I liked this one. The trap is lifestyle inflation, so raise your investing before you upgrade your lifestyle, and keep an emergency reserve and low debt.
