Overview

Most vibe-coding demos stop at TODO apps and landing pages. This 150-minute workshop went further: participants used modern AI coding agents to build a real Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) platform from scratch, aggregating and visualizing intelligence data on an interactive 3D globe โ€” flight tracking, satellite positions, earthquake feeds, maritime traffic, and more. Beyond the build, the workshop taught the mindset and prompting techniques for treating AI as an engineering partner rather than a code generator: structuring prompts for maintainable code, breaking large systems into incremental tasks, debugging AI-generated code, and knowing when to intervene manually. Respondent is a geospatial intelligence platform aggregating real-time data from 50+ public sources โ€” flights, maritime vessels, seismic activity, wildfires, lightning, satellites, armed conflicts, weather emergencies, and network outages โ€” visualized on an interactive 3D globe. Backend is a single Docker container with SQLite; frontend is React + Cesium; sources and analyses are configured declaratively via YAML with CEL expressions, and optional LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or local models) cross-references layers to surface composite patterns.
